Battle of the Bands
'Nantwich has talent' - By Andrew Cliffe,
Brine Lees School, Nantwich
This years Battle of the Bands organised by Andrew Cliffe of Brine Lees School, was once again a very successful and popular event, which attracted several competitors who provided excellent entertainment throughout the day.
Andrew said: 'It was a really high standard this year. Three primary schools competed in the morning and each had a unique style. The Weaver showcased their traditional orchestra, Willaston's percussion group performed very well and Wrenbury rocked with electric guitars and drums.
'Approximately 50 schoolchildren aged 11 or under participated in front of appreciative friends and relatives and the numbers were boosted by ex Wrenbury pupils, currently at Brine Lees who also performed. Nantwich Youth Choir also performed very well and in the afternoon six acts competed and they all did incredibly well.

'Third place went to 'Submission' a four piece band, second place went to another four piece band, 'Crash Course', who were last year's winners, and this years winners were Sarah Cheshire and Josh Bailey. Sarah has competed for the last three years but the judges had never heard her perform to such a high standard with wonderful guitar accompaniment from Josh.
