The Nantwich Annual Family Fun Day Association was formed in the Autumn of 2004, following an appeal in the local media by local Councillor Keith Cafferty, who wanted to see a return of the Nantwich Town Annual Carnival for the first time since 1971.
Several volunteers came forward and a meeting was held at Brookfield Hall, Shrewbridge Road, Nantwich, when the 'Nantwich Family Fun Day Association' was formed.
The first fun day was held on 9th July 2005. It included a procession through the town followed by a fun packed day at the Barony Park, Nantwich. Around 10,000 people enjoyed the event throughout the day, which turned out to be on one of the hottest days of the year.
Funding for the events has been supported by Nantwich Town Council, with their 'Support in the Community Scheme' and many local businesses have given their backing with sponsorship.
The Fun Day Association has gone from strength to strength with 12 committee members on board.
Keeping the value of the family and communities is at the forefront of their planning.
